Room 402 has been really busy with end of the year projects and activities. We had two special guests last week; Mr. S from Discovery Education and Mr. William all the way from Australia. Mr. S had a great activity called Breakout( think of escape room) in which students have to work together as a class to solve problems and get clues to unlock different locks. The key is for student collaboration and critical thinking! Students absolutely loved it. They loved that it was challenging and rewarding after they solved each clue. At the end Mr. S rewarded all the students with a special treat for solving all the clues. I loved that it incorporated math, collaboration and it was great for team building. I can't wait to create my own so students can solve. Our second guest speaker was Mr. William, he is visiting the U.S all the way from Australia. He presented to our class a little bit of where he is from and gave some very interesting facts about Australia. Students were mesmerized with the wildlife of Australia especially with the Albert's Lyre Bird. We are going to be fortunate to have Mr. William help out in our classroom to show our students about computer science. Last our class finished our PBL on American Ninja Warrior. This was one of the most fun PBL's we have done this year. Students incorporated geometry, and engineering to produce their end project in which they recreated two obstacle courses.
