It was a very exciting and productive month. Students had an opportunity to learn about binary code, Mr. Chris instructed students during our Valentines party to write out a name using binary code, pretty cool! We then went to Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara to learn about the science, technology, engineering and math in football and the incredible stadium the 49ers call home. Students had a blast although it was a very long day. Thanks to all the chaperones who were real troopers for looking out and sharing their day with 3rd and 4th grade. We also had a fabulous presentation from SAWS and learned about how we get our water. To round out the month we are finishing our energy PBL with racers; students built 2 racers; one using electrical energy and another using any other form of energy. It was a great month!

This weeks focus in language arts was poetry; students created Acrostic, Haiku and Narrative poems. We are still working on our energy pbl and students are in the project phase. They are using the engineering design process to design, create, build, and test two racers that use electrical energy, mechanical and chemical energy. Stay tuned for their finished projects.
