The last few weeks have been busy and exciting in room 402. We closed our PBL with presentations and dissecting owl pellets. The week before spring break, students were able to make observations using microscopes. The county office of education has a great program that offers teachers to check out GEM Kits. GEM Kits are great because they offer interactive, hands on experiences that tie in directly with science standards. One of the kits contained making OObleck. The students loved that it could be a solid or a liquid, they had many notices and wonders about this exciting experiment!
As we getting closer to the end of the year, we are becoming more reflective about our learning. I'm amazed on the growth our students and how much they have accomplished. One of the highlights for me was the tie in we had with The Walking Classroom in making our own podcasts. Students were so excited to research, write the script, and record it. Students had a choice to use the Vocaroo.com or READ & WRITE extension from the chromebooks to record. All the students did an amazing job, many of them modeled their podcasts from The Walking Classroom. I'm sharing their podcast below, just click on your students number to hear them. Once again, I can't say enough great things about The Walking Classroom, not only is it providing exercise while not wasting precious learning time from their podcasts, but has given me another opportunity to integrate learning during class time. Thank you TWC for giving my class this great experience! Document with student podcast links: https://goo.gl/LD21yC
